3-week-old child dies, Cleveland homicide detectives investigating per protocol

CLEVELAND — Cleveland police homicide detectives are investigating the death of a 3-week-old baby who died Friday morning.

At around 5:15 a.m., Cleveland EMS responded to the 3800 block of Bivens Drive for an infant not breathing, police said. The baby was transported to Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital and later pronounced dead.

Homicide detectives were notified about the death and are investigating “as they do in all cases of child fatalities,” police said.

No further information has been released.
