30-year-old man fatally shot on Cleveland's East Side, suspect arrested

CLEVEAND — A 30-year-old man was shot and killed on Cleveland’s East Side late Friday morning.

According to Cleveland police, the injured man was found after the suspect approached officers near East 185th Street and Neff Road. Police said they believe the victim was in a vehicle with the suspect and was shot somewhere outside of Cleveland.

Following the shooting, the victim was transported to University Hospitals and pronounced dead. Authorities have not released the victim’s identity.

The suspect later told police that he shot the victim when the man tried to rob him.

The matter remains under investigation.
