36-year-old man dead, 26-year-old female injured after multiple people fire shots in Cleveland

CLEVELAND — A 36-year-old man is dead and a woman in her 20s is confined to the hospital with a gunshot wound after multiple people fired shots at them as well as multiple parked cars in Cleveland's Central neighborhood Saturday morning.

At around 1:17 a.m., police responded to the area of East 55th Street and Central Avenue for approximately 50 shots fired.

Officers located a 36-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head and performed first aid until EMS arrived. The victim was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The 26-year-old female, who was also shot, was transported to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, where she remains in an unknown condition.

Investigators said they learned that multiple shooters fired shots striking both victims and multiple parked vehicles in the area. No other injuries were reported and no arrests have been made.
