CLEVELAND — Cleveland police have launched a homicide investigation after a 60-year-old man was found shot and killed in his apartment in the city's Goodrich–Kirtland Park neighborhood Friday afternoon.

Around 4:20 p.m., officers responded to the 5200 block of Superior Avenue for a report of a deceased male.

Officers arrived and found a 60-year-old man who was dead with multiple gunshot wounds.

Homicide investigators learned on scene that the man had last been seen alive on March 18. When he did not report to work, his supervisor went to the apartment to do a wellness check, police said.

The man's supervisor received assistance from a maintenance employee and gained entry into his apartment where he was found dead, according to police.

No arrests have been made at this time and the incident remains under investigation.
