8 people shot, 1 fatally, in 6 separate shootings on Cleveland's East Side Saturday

CLEVELAND — Cleveland police are investigating after eight people were shot, one fatally, in six separate shootings on Saturday.

2 a.m.-East 185th Street
The first shooting occurred on East 185th Street in Cleveland around 2 a.m. A man was transported by life-flight to MetroHealth hospital, police said.

2 a.m.-East 124th Street and St. Clair Avenue
Also around 2 a.m., police responded to a shooting in Cleveland’s Forest Hills neighborhood where they found a man with a gunshot wound to the leg. He was transported by EMS to University Hospitals, according to police.

3 a.m.-St. Clair Avenue and Nottingham Road
The third shooting occurred in Cleveland’s South-Collinwood neighborhood in the area of St. Clair Avenue and Nottingham Road. A woman was taken to MetroHealth hospital with a gunshot wound to her right leg, police said.

4 a.m.-East 40th Street
Around 4 a.m., police responded to the 2300 block of East 40th Street in Cleveland’s Central neighborhood. Once on scene, officers found a man with a gunshot wound to the side of his chest and a pregnant woman who had been shot in the arm. The Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority has taken over the case, police said.

5 a.m.-East 107th Street
Police were later called to Cleveland’s Glenville neighborhood for a fatal shooting.

Around 5 a.m., officers responded to the 600 block of East 107th Street after receiving reports of shots fired. Officers were informed that two men with gunshot wounds had arrived at Cleveland Clinic-Euclid Hospital by private vehicle.

A 28-year-old man was shot multiple times but left the hospital after refusing treatment. A 29-year-old man died from his injuries at the hospital. Police learned during the preliminary investigation that the two men were traveling in a vehicle with a 24-year-old woman when an unknown person standing outside shot at the car. The woman was not injured, police said.

1 p.m.-East 105th Street
Later in the afternoon, around 1 p.m., police responded to another area in Cleveland’s Glenville neighborhood where they found a woman with a gunshot wound to the head, according to police.

Her condition is unknown at this time.

No arrests have been reported and all of the shootings remain under investigation.
