CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Police Department is investigating the theft of an Amazon delivery truck over the weekend.

It happened Sunday just after 3 p.m. near West 135th Street and Carrington Avenue.

According to Cleveland police, the driver got out of his truck to make a delivery, but left the vehicle running. Two unknown men climbed into the truck and drove off, hit a stop sign and then fled the area.

The truck was later found near West 127th Street and Crossburn Avenue, which is about half a mile from where it was stolen, authorities said.

A witness told police that they were taking their grandson to work when they saw two men unloading packages from the truck and transferring them to a gray sedan. When the men noticed they were being watched, they got into the car and drove off, the department said.

The matter remains under investigation.
