Man shot in Maple Hts. in intensive care unit

A man is in the intensive care unit at MetroHealth Medical Center in critical condition after being shot on Lee Road, police reported. 

Police said on Wednesday around 5:45 p.m., police went to the 5200 block of Lee Road on a call of shots fired and a report of someone shot. 

When they arrived at the scene, police found the victim, identified as Jerome Everett, 31, of Bedford, on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound. 

Everett was taken to MetroHealth for treatment. He is currently listed in critical condition. 

Maple Heights police detectives and agents from the Bureau of Criminal Investigation handled the investigation.
