Cheers! Cleveland ranked in top 10 cities for beer drinkers in United States

CLEVELAND — Beer lovers in Cleveland will be happy to know they’re in the perfect city to enjoy a good brew, according to a study conducted by SmartAsset.

Cleveland was among two Ohio cities that made the top 10 list of best cities in the United States for beer drinkers in 2019.

The study looked at the 350 largest cities in the United States and then ranked them based on the total number of breweries, the number of breweries per 100,000 residents, the average number of beers on tap per brewery, the number of bars per 100,000 residents and the average price for a pint of domestic draft beer.

Cleveland was ranked the 10th best city for beer drinkers with 21 breweries, 5.5. breweries per 100,000 residents, an average of 51.5 beers per brewery, 20.5 bars per 100,000 residents and the average price of a draft beer listed at $4.

Another city in Ohio topped the chart and was named the best city in the country for beer drinkers.

Cincinnati was ranked No. 1 in the study for the city’s high number of breweries and a large variety of beer at the breweries. Cincinnati moved up from a No. 4 ranking in the 2018 study.
