Chester Avenue was closed early Friday after a driver crashed into a utility pole.
The driver hit the pole while driving westbound on Chester Avenue just before East 59th Street around 3:15 a.m. The impact knocked down the pole, causing wires to hang low across all six lanes of Chester Avenue.
Cleveland police closed Chester between East 59th and East 63rd Street while Cleveland Public Power worked to remove the low hanging wires.
The driver of the car was taken to a local hospital by Cleveland EMS.
