CLEVELAND — A Cleveland Clinic ambulance was struck while transporting a patient early Wednesday morning.
EMS responded shortly after 4:30 a.m. to the intersection of Ontario and Carnegie Avenue for a crash involving a critical care transport ambulance.
The patient inside the ambulance had to be transferred to a Cleveland EMS ambulance for the remainder of the transport to the hospital.
A 66-year-old male was transported in serious condition. A 51-year-old and a 50-year-old male was transported in stable condition to the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus.
The driver of the vehicle that hit the ambulance was seen to alert and walking, according to News 5's overnight news tracker.
The crash temporarily closed the northbound lanes of Ontario and the westbound lanes of Carnegie.
