2-alarm fire at Cleveland apartment overnight

Posted

Cleveland firefighters battled a two-alarm fire at the corner of West 105th Street and Joan Avenue just after 2:30 a.m. Tuesday.

First responders found fire shooting from a third floor window of the Joan Apartments and immediately called for a second alarm due to the size of the apartment building.

Once inside, firefighters were able to contain the fire to a single apartment and worked to evacuate residents.

According to officials, the fire started in a chair and spread to the rest of the original apartment.

The second alarm fire companies were able to turn around and return to their stations just as they arrived to the fire scene.

Cleveland EMS took one person to the hospital with minor injuries.
