PD: Boy, 12, burned by boiling water in prank

One boy is being treated for burns and another is facing charges after a sleepover prank gone wrong in Cleveland Heights. 

According to police reports, several boys said they were were at a sleepover in Cleveland Heights when they made an agreement to play pranks on each other.

After the parents who hosted the sleepover went to sleep, one of the boys allegedly poured boiling water on another boy, who was asleep on the floor.

The victim jumped up and started screaming, according to the report. He went home and was later taken to the hospital for burns to his back and buttocks. 

Police spoke to the suspect who said the victim couldn't be upset "because he agreed to be pranked," according to the report.

Felonious assault charges were filed against the boy in juvenile court. He was released into the care of his sister due to his young age.
