CLEVELAND — A Cleveland police officer has been suspended after being charged with assault, according to Director of Public Safety Michael McGrath and Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams.
Detective Daniel Lentz, 45, was charged with felonious assault Friday morning, police said. He has since been suspended without pay pending the criminal investigation.
Lentz was hired by the Cleveland Division of Police in August 1997 and is currently assigned to the Homicide unit, according to police.
