Shawn Jeffrey, 21, of Cleveland, was arrested for possession of drugs and guns in his car, found when he was pulled over by police for a traffic stop.
Police said on Monday at 11:38 p.m., an officer saw a car headed east on Solon Road near Kruse Drive with no front plate and excessive window tint on the front driver side window.
Officers initiated a traffic stop and discovered that Jeffrey had a suspended driver's license.
When speaking with him, police reported seeing a marijuana leaf on the front seat as well as in Jeffrey's lap. When he stepped out of the car, he pointed to the passenger seat and told police there was a loaded weapon on the seat. He also dropped a container of suspected marijuana from his pant leg underneath the car.
Police reported finding a 31-round high capacity magazine wedged between the driver seat and the center console, as well as a loaded 12 gauge shotgun in a gun case in the trunk.
Jeffrey was arrested and charged with failure to display a front plate, excessive window tint, drug possession, and two charges of improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle.
