CLEVELAND — Remote learning in the midst of a pandemic can present a handful of challenges, but to help support local students as they work from home under unique circumstances, Cleveland Metropolitan School District has been awarded a large grant from UnitedHealthcare.
CMSD will be receiving a $20,000 grant to help support students with remote learning by providing funding for Wi-Fi hotspots and laptops with blue-light blocking technology, focusing on students’ eye health.
With increased time now spent on digital devices, there are worries that children are at higher risk for developing vision problems related to excessive exposure to blue light.
CMSD was one of five school districts around the country to receive a $20,000 grant.
