Cleveland police investigating double stabbing that left 1 man dead

CLEVELAND — Cleveland police are investigating a deadly double stabbing that happened Friday night on the city’s West Side.

According to police, officers responded to the 2300 block of West 3rd Street around 9 p.m. and located a 44-year-old man who had been stabbed in the chest and groin. Another man, age 42, was also located. He had also been stabbed in the chest.

EMS transported the victims to a nearby hospital where the 42-year-old succumbed to his injuries, police said. The condition of the 44-year-old man is unknown.

Authorities said that a 53-year-old man was arrested at the scene. His name and charges have not been released.

The matter remains under investigation.
