Cleveland police investigating two separate fatal car crashes that happened Saturday

CLEVELAND — Two people were killed in separate car crashes in Cleveland early Saturday morning.

According to authorities, the first crash happened around 3:30 a.m. in the 6100 block of Carnegie Avenue in the city's Central neighborhood.

A Cleveland EMS spokesperson said that a 25-year-old woman died in the crash. Her name has not been released. A 28-year-old woman in serious condition and a 40-year-old man in stable condition were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The second crash happened just after 5 a.m. in the 13400 block of St. Clair Avenue in the city's South Collinwood neighborhood. Authorities say the vehicle struck a pole.

The person killed was a woman, but police did not provide any additional information.

Both crashes remain under investigation.
