CLEVELAND — A Cleveland police officer and a teenage boy were injured after a pursuit in Downtown Cleveland Monday afternoon resulted in a crash, according to authorities.
Around 3:30 p.m., officers initiated a pursuit with a vehicle believed to be connected to the kidnapping of a 15-year-old boy, police said.
During the pursuit, a police car crashed near the area of East 9th Street and Superior Avenue after it was t-boned by a civilian vehicle.
The individual involved in the pursuit fled near the area of The Arcade on Euclid Avenue.
After a short search, the individual was detained, police said.
As a result of the crash, an officer sustained injuries.
Police said the 15-year-old boy, who they initially thought to be kidnapped, was apprehended after a foot pursuit.
