A Cleveland police officer was involved in a shooting on the city's east side early Sunday.
According to Cleveland police, around 11:55 Saturday night, officers assigned to the gang unit observed a robbery in progress, resulting in shots fired.
Officers touring the area of East 116th Street and Benham Avenue in an undercover vehicle saw two men robbing and kicking another man.
When officers approached, the men fled.
According to Cleveland police, one suspect turned around and fired shots at the officers. One officer returned fire.
No injuries were reported.
Curtis Dunnings, 26, was taken into custody a short time later by other members of the gang unit.
