A Cleveland police officer was treated for a concussion after being involved in a hit-skip crash Friday morning.
Third district officers were in a marked patrol car, traveling south on East 40th Street around 3 a.m. when a pickup truck rear-ended them, forcing the car to spin out.
The driver of the truck fled the scene, leaving the license plate behind.
Officers ran the license plate, which led them to an address where the crashed truck was located.
A man fled from the home but was captured by police a short time later. The man—identified as Errek Jackson—was arrested for public intoxication and obstruction of official justice. Charges could also be filed in relation to the crash.
The back of the patrol car was seriously damaged, police said.
One of the officers was treated for a concussion.
