Cleveland police searching for white Jeep Compass that struck officer, fled scene

CLEVELAND — Cleveland police are seeking the public's help in locating the vehicle that struck an officer in a hit-skip early Saturday morning.

Around 4 a.m., the driver of a 2019 white Jeep Compass struck an officer in the area of West 9th Street and West Superior Avenue. The driver then fled the scene, according to police.

The officer suffered numerous injuries, including multiple broken ribs. The officer remains hospitalized, police said.

Police said the Jeep Compass in question should have heavy front end damage.
