CMSD postpones closing of Collinwood, New Tech West high schools

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Board of Education has decided to delay the closing of Collinwood High School.

The board voted unanimously to postpone the closure for at least a year.

Originally, the school board decide to close the school and combine it with Glenville and Martin Luther King Jr.

Collinwood High school has been in operation for 93 years and was designed to accommodate more than 3,000 students.

The board also decided to withdraw a recommendation to close New Tech West High School.
