CLEVELAND — A group of students dedicated to strengthening Ohio's competitiveness in the STEM fields graduated from Cleveland State University on Sunday.

The students earned a "Choose Ohio First" scholarship when they started school four years ago.

They got money to study in fields that will impact Ohio's position in world market's like aerospace, medicine, computer technology and energy.

Jalen McKinnie, a student that graduated from the program, has some advice for others thinking about applying.

"I would definitely say go for it," McKinnie said. "You never know what can happen unless you take that shot. The world is changing so fast so you can either just get out of the way and just watch everything happen as it goes on by or you can get your hands dirty and go directly into it and be part of it."
