CLEVELAND — There have been nearly 20 heat-related emergencies over the past few days in Cleveland as temperatures have pushed the heat index into triple digits.

A Cleveland EMS spokesperson said crews responded to seven incidents on Thursday and 12 on Friday.

On Thursday, the National Weather Service issued an Excessive Heat Warning for Northeast Ohio. The warning goes until 8 p.m. Saturday.
