CLEVELAND — The pandemic has canceled and postponed some of our favorite events, but don’t worry Cleveland, one tradition is still a go—the annual Christmas Ale First Pour at Great Lakes Brewing Company.
The tradition draws in crowds every year as they stand outside waiting to get their hands on the anticipated Great Lakes Christmas Ale. But this year will be a little different because lines will not be permitted outside the brewpub in an effort to maintain social distancing.
The first pour celebration will take place on Saturday Oct. 22 beginning at 10 a.m. with last call at 9:30 p.m.
Reservations will be required and masks must be worn upon entry and when not sitting at a table. Standing room will not be available during this first pour celebration.
Bottles of Christmas Ale will not be available for purchase from the gift shop on Oct. 22. Bottles to-go will be available beginning Friday Oct. 23. Packaged Christmas Ale will be distributed across Great Lakes Brewing Company’s footprint beginning Monday, Oct. 26, before Halloween, as it should be.
If going out isn’t your thing just yet, you can enjoy the festive taste of honey, cinnamon, and ginger flavors of Christmas Ale from the comfort of your home on Oct. 22 by pre-ordering and picking up.
A variety of first pour packages will be available for pre-order and can be picked up from the gift shop and enjoyed from the safety of your own North Pole.
Online pre-orders begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 10.
