CLEVELAND — A man is facing charges for allegedly performing a sexual act on himself in front of an elementary school Monday morning.

According to Cleveland police, the man has been charged with voyeurism and public indecency.

Police responded to Stonebrook Montessori School around 11: 15 a.m. Monday after it was reported that a man was standing across the street from the building with his pants around his knees and no underwear on while touching himself.

The elementary school’s administrator immediately called police. She later told authorities that she was outside the school right before recess started and saw the man peeking around a tree while exposing and touching himself, according to a Cleveland police report.

When the administrator confronted the man about their being children nearby, he responded by telling her he was “just trying to take a poop,” according to the report.

Eventually, the man fled north on St. Clair Avenue.

Police tracked the man down and he was taken into custody Wednesday morning.
