An overzealous Indians fan channeled his inner Francisco Lindor when he ran out onto the field during a game on May 24 wearing Lindor's No. 12 jersey.

The Mentor man stepped onto the holiest of hallowed ground from right field and then ran across the outfield and exited by section 173 while Cleveland was playing the Houston Astros. He then fled the stadium through the left field gate and came into contact with nearby police, who tried to call him out.

Determined to keep running for home, the man turned and ran but was stopped by a police officer, who then went Johnny Lawrence from "Karate Kid" on the guy.

Here's your blow-by-blow from the police report: "I then used a leg sweep and an arm bar to take the male to the ground."

When police told the man to stop tensing his arms and resisting, he replied, "I'm just getting my workout in."

The man was charged with criminal trespassing, obstructing official business and resisting arrest.

News 5 is not naming the man because we don't want to encourage idiotic behavior, however amusing it may be.
