CLEVELAND — A bench will be dedicated Friday afternoon in memory of 4-year-old Aniya Day-Garrett, a little girl who died at the hands of her mother and her mother’s boyfriend in 2018.
The ceremony will take place at the children’s playground at Sims Park on Lakeshore Boulevard in Cleveland.

The Justice 4 Aniya Foundation raised money to purchase the bench in the child’s honor.
Aniya died in March 2018. Aniya’s death was ruled a homicide. Her mother and her mother’s boyfriend were later arrested, charged, found guilty and then sentenced to prison for their roles in her murder.
