CLEVELAND — A 12-year-old child is facing a slew of charges for allegedly beating a man and carjacking him at a gas station in December.
According to Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court records, the boy has been charged with one count of aggravated robbery, three counts of robbery, one count of grand theft and one count of assault.
The robbery happened on Dec. 21 at a gas station in the 5100 block of Clark Avenue around 8:30 p.m., a Cleveland police report states.
According to police, the victim went to the gas station to buy a pack of cigarettes. While there, the man was approached by four "young males," one of whom was carrying a gun.
The group then attacked the victim by punching him repeatedly in the head until he fell to the ground, police said. Three of the assailants then got in a silver Toyota Corolla while another person took the victim's keys and got into his Buick Century. Then both cars drove off.
The child was in court Friday for a preliminary hearing. His next court date has not been set.
