Police are investigating a shooting that happened outside King of Diamonds gentleman's club early Friday.

Officers were called to the club on Lee Road around 2:45 a.m. for a report of a woman shot.

When officers arrived the injured 23-year-old woman was being carried by a security guard.

The security guard told the officers that an argument broke out in the parking lot after he escorted a customer outside. The victim, a worker at the club, walked outside and the guard heard gunshots.

The guard said he saw the suspect running toward Holly Hill Drive, then getting in a silver Volkswagen and driving off.

The victim was taken to University Hospital for treatment. University Hospitals said she is in satisfactory condition and was scheduled to be discharged Friday afternoon.

Police are still looking for the unknown black male suspect who may go by the name of "Tune" or "Gene."
