Cleveland police are investigating a shooting after officers found two victims at East 9th Street and St. Clair Avenue early Saturday. One of them was shot in the head.
Police call logs indicated that a woman called for help at 2:18 a.m. on Saturday, stating that her car got shot up, and her passenger took a bullet to the head.
Cleveland City Councilman Kerry McCormack said that car crashed at East 9th Street and St. Clair Avenue after a shooting occurred at East 38th Street and St. Clair Avenue.
"Our neighborhoods are safe, our downtown is safe," added McCormack. "Right now, I'm unaware whether police have any suspects."
Cleveland police would not provide any new information on the case Monday except to say that the incident was not a homicide.
The call logs also indicate that officers searched the East 38th Street and St. Clair Avenue area and found shell casings and broken glass. They also found a Glock-22 handgun with a magazine at East 24th Street and St. Clair Avenue.
The victims have been identified as 23-year-old James Greathouse and 26-year-old Bernell Jordan. MetroHealth Medical Center said Greathouse, who was shot in the head, has been discharged. The hospital has no information on Jordan.
There is no word from police on whether there have been any arrests in the case.
NewsChannel 5 is still waiting to hear from Cleveland City Councilman TJ Dow, whose ward includes the area where the shooting took place.
