Cleveland police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a robber who held up an Old Brooklyn store at gunpoint Sunday while wearing what appeared to be red underwear.

The young male entered the parking lot of the Old Brooklyn Food Market at 4775 Pearl Road at about 1 p.m., then pulled up a blue bandana as a mask as he approached the front door, according to a Facebook post from the Second District Community Relations Committee. The suspect then pulled out a handgun that appeared to have a gray slide and a seafoam green frame.

Inside the store, the man jumped the counter, robbed the store, and then jumped back over the counter, police said. He left the store and headed south on Pearl Road.

The suspect is described by police as 5-feet-4-inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing all dark clothing, a black baseball hat with #45 on the left side, black or gray gloves with open fingers, and a black book bag. Based on a surveillance photo, the suspect also appeared to be wearing red underwear.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect, the gun, or has another information about the incident is asked to contact Patrolman Frank Ambrose at 216-623-5218.
