Authorities are looking for two people involved in west side shooting and a witness who stopped at a nearby house and asked the resident to call the police.

The shooting happened around 1 a.m. on Jan. 25 near the 1900 block of West 57th Street. The location is near St. Stephen's Church and just north of Ithaca Community Garden.

According to a police report, the victim had just returned home from work and backed his 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser into his driveway when he was approached by two younger males wearing dark-colored clothing.

The men demanded money from the victim, police said. One of the suspects shot the victim multiple times and both men ran off.

According to the police report, the victim was shot four times.

A third man, described as a white male in his 50s and wearing blue jeans and a green sweater, was spotted on a nearby security camera running northbound on West 57th Street after the shooting. Police said the man stopped at a house and asked the resident to call authorities and then ran off further down the street.

The victim is being treated at MetroHealth Medical Center.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Second District Detective Bureau at 216-623-2755.
