Cleveland police were called to St. Vincent Charity Medical Center for the report of a large fight and a person shot around 2:15 a.m. Friday.
According to police, a man was shot near East 79th Street and Central Avenue and was brought to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.
A large number of people showed up shortly after the victim and became unruly inside the emergency room and outside in the parking lot.
Nearly a dozen Cleveland police officers responded.
Police found shell casings in the intersection of East 79th Street and Central Avenue.
No suspect information was released.
