CLEVELAND — Cleveland police homicide detectives are investigating the death of a 6-week-old boy who was brought into the Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to the hospital’s emergency department at about 4 a.m. Preliminary information indicates the child was brought to the hospital by parents, and had injuries from suspected violence, according to police.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office will examine the injuries further to determine the cause and manner of the child’s death.

The matter remains under investigation and no arrests have been made, police said. Police noted that homicide detectives respond to all child fatality incidents.
