Police seek public's help to locate driver in fatal hit-skip with pedestrian

CLEVELAND — Cleveland police are asking the public for help identifying the driver of a vehicle involved in a fatal hit-skip with a pedestrian.

On Friday, Jan. 3 around 1 p.m., 79-year-old Mohammed Ali was in the crosswalk of Superior Avenue and East 99th Street when he was struck by an unknown vehicle, according to police.

Ali was transported to University Hospitals where he later died from his injuries, police said.

The vehicle that struck Ali was described by police as a smaller, dark blue car with six or seven seashell/diamond type shapes on the rear truck deck.
