CLEVELAND — An RTA bus was struck in a crash involving a wrong-way driver on the Shoreway around 8 p.m. Friday, according to an RTA spokesperson.

The bus was heading west on the Shoreway just past West 25th Street. At the same time, a red SUV was merging onto the Shoreway from the far left lane of the West 25th Street ramp, the spokesperson said.

The driver of the red SUV made a sudden u-turn, attempting to go east in the westbound lanes as the RTA bus passed, according to the spokesperson.

The SUV struck the front left side of the bus and continued driving, the spokesperson said.

There were no passengers on the bus at the time of the crash as the bus was out of service and headed to the Triskett bus district, according to the spokesperson.
