Salvation Army will host several produce giveaways in the coming months for people in need

CLEVELAND — Are you or someone you know in need of fresh fruits and vegetables? The Salvation Army Cleveland Miles Park Corps is hosting several produce giveaways over the next several months.

The produce is free and available for local residents. Participants are asked to bring a photo ID and a utility bill showing proof of residency. Also, officials ask that you bring your own bags to carry the produce.

The first giveaway will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 31 at the Salvation Army, 4139 East 93rd Street. More giveaways are scheduled through October and will take place at the same time and location on the following dates:

  • June 14
  • July 20
  • Aug. 30
  • Sept. 27
  • Oct. 25

Anyone interested in volunteering at any of the events can call the Salvation Army at 216-341-1640.
