SAT 'adversity score' putting a number on hardship

CLEVELAND — The company that administers the SAT is making a big change that has some local leaders concerned about what’s being called an “adversity score.”

The score measures a student’s environment such as neighborhood crime rate, home value and poverty level.

Not everyone is on board.
