A 47-year-man has died after police say he tampered with wiring at a building on Cleveland's east side.

According to the police report, a scrapper found the man's body inside the old Goodwill Building, 2295 East 55th St., and flagged down EMS.

Police said the dead man was lying in about two inches of water in a room that had a high voltage sign on the door. Water had been spraying onto the floor from an adjoining room.

It's not clear how long the man had been there.

In order to remove the man from the room, authorities contacted First Energy to shut off power to the facility.

The official cause of death is still under investigation.
