Two men walked into a BP gas station and exchanged gunfire with a clerk as they robbed the store, Cleveland police said.

The clerk told police that the men rushed into the store at 4006 Lee Road at 1 a.m. Monday and took money and cigarettes before firing shots at the clerk. The clerk returned fire, police said.

One of the men dropped a cell phone, which was taken into evidence. There were no known injuries to the men or the clerk.

The police report does not state whether the clerk was licensed to carry a concealed weapon.
