The Ohio State Highway Patrol used spike strips on Interstate 71 early Friday to help stop a stolen car that was fleeing from Strongsville Police.

Troopers said the chase started in Strongsville with two suspects inside a stolen car from Euclid.

The suspects raced north along I-71 to the area of West 150th Street in Cleveland where a trooper was able to put down spike strips which the suspects ran over.

The suspects continued north along I-71 to the Denison Avenue exit where they exited and then crashed into a pole and fence on West 58th.

Troopers, Strongsville police and Cleveland police were able to arrest one of the two men inside the car after a search of the area.

The arrested person is an 18-year-old man but no other information was released about his identity.
