A man wanted in connection with several burglaries was arrested after a traffic stop Tuesday night in Bexley Park, South Euclid police.
Police reported 18-year-old Jeremy Harper, a passenger in the car, initially provided officers with a false social security number in an attempt to hide his identity. When his real identity was learned, Harper fled the scene on foot.
Officers said they chased him over several fences and through back yards on nearby Laclede Road and Wrenford Road.
A perimeter was set up with assistance from off-duty officers, police reported, as well as the University Heights Police Department.
After a thorough search, Harper was found hiding in the leaves under a back porch of a residence on Wrenford Road. He was escorted out of his hiding spot, arrested, and taken to the city jail, police said.
Police said in addition to the warrants, he was charged with obstructing official business, providing false information, and other related offenses.
