'The Fashion Weekend' kicks off in Cleveland, gives residents access to local industry professionals

CLEVELAND — A three-day event called "The Fashion Weekend" will kick off Thursday night to make the fashion industry more accessible to Cleveland area residents.

The event is a local fashion showcase hosted by local fashionista Nia Allen.

According to event organizers, The Fashion Weekend started in 2017 and "has provided Cleveland residents with exposure and access to fashion professionals within the fashion industry. Each event is curated to provide networking opportunities and to make contacts with like-minded individuals. The fashion weekend consists of three events this year."

The first event, called "Designer Talks with Fashion Designer Dru Thompson," happens at 7 p.m. Thursday and takes place at 1615 East 25th St., Cleveland. It is free and open to the public.

The second event, called "The Women's Fasion Influencer Panel," takes place Friday at 6 p.m. at Digital C Midtown TechHive, 6815 Euclid Ave., Cleveland. The event is free and open to the public.

The third event, The Fashion Brunch, is Sunday at 1 p.m. and held at Acacia Reservation's The Buckeye Room, 26899 Cedar Road, Lyndhurst. Tickets to the event cost $40 and cover a brunch buffet and unlimited champagne mimosas. Tickets can be purchased by emailing Nia.j.allen@gmail.com or by calling 216-533-3666.
