Drivers who take the Shoreway should expect extra traffic for the next couple months.
More construction begins Wednesday, affecting the inbound West Shoreway near the Lake Avenue intersection and the inbound West Shoreway from West 73rd Street to West 45th Street.
The inbound West Shoreway will be reduced to two lanes at the Lake Avenue intersection as crews begin work to remove the concrete median barrier. Traffic will remain shifted that way until July.
Crews will also close the right lane on the inbound West Shoreway from Edgewater to West 45th Street. The right lane will remain closed until early June. ODOT officials say that closure is necessary as crews finish building the retaining wall near West 49th Street.
The Edgewater ramps to/from the westbound Shoreway are closed through mid-May in order to reconstruct the ramps.
