CLEVELAND — The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authorities is investigating an incident involving two trains that bumped into each other on Sunday.

The incident happened around 12:05 a.m. on Jan. 26 at the Blue/Green Line intersection near the Shaker Square junction just east of the Shaker Square Station. RTA officials said a Blue Line train heading east on the Green Line was involved in a minor collision with a second Blue Line train heading west from Warrensville/Van Aken.

RTA officials said both of the train operators were taken to a nearby hospital following the incident, but no injuries were reported. The operators remain off-duty.

RTA temporarily shut down rail service while crews investigated track and signaling systems which were found to be operationally safe, officials said.

The matter remains under investigation.
