Two teens were arrested Thursday morning in connection with the assault and carjacking of an elderly man last month.
Jonathon Hill, 19, and a 17-year-old teen were both charged with aggravated robbery, kidnapping, felonious assault, carrying concealed weapons, grand theft and having weapons under disability.
According to authorities, on July 9, a 75-year-old man using a walker was heading to his car near West 140th Street and Bellaire Road when he was approached from behind by two men. One of the men hit the 75-year-old several times in the head with a firearm and then made off with the victim's Chevrolet Impala.
A retired police officer found the vehicle near West 132nd Street and Puritas Avenue. A warrant was issued for Hill and the other teen on Aug. 8, and they were found and arrested at an apartment building on the 4700 block of Pearl Road on Thursday.
