CLEVELAND — A Mississippi murder suspect has been captured by the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force on Cleveland’s East Side.

Omni Tajor Turner was arrested Thursday morning at an apartment near East 74th Street and St. Clair Avenue, according to a news release from the U.S. Marshals.

Turner and another man are accused of killing a 34-year-old man in Waynesboro, Mississippi on Easter Sunday, authorities said. Turner also had warrants out for his arrest in Lorain County, authorities said.

Turner is being held at the Lorain County Jail until he is extradited back to Mississippi.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “Our task force wasted no time joining in the manhunt for this violent fugitive from Mississippi. As soon as we heard he was hiding out in the Cleveland area we immediately started looking for him which lead to a safe and speedy arrest.”
