South Euclid police are asking the public for help in identifying a man caught on video stealing a truck from Simply Self Storage, and disabling a locking system to the facility in the process.

Police said on Aug. 15 around 5:30 p.m. the suspect went into Simply Self Storage, located at 4349 Monticello Blvd., and broke into the truck seen in the video below.

Afterwards, police said, the suspect disabled the locking mechanism to the storage facility. He then left the area with the truck.

South Euclid police said the truck has since been recovered by the Garfield Heights Police Department, but $54,261.86 worth of inventory was also stolen by the suspect. The owner of the truck is a small business owner and requires the items that were in the truck to meet his work requirements.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect is asked to contact the South Euclid Police Department at 216-381-1234.
