Big crowds and a party atmosphere downtown for Saint Paddy's day.

A similar scene expected for the Republican National Convention week in July, when thousands of out-of-towners descend on downtown Cleveland.

Destination Cleveland's Jennifer Kramer said they're looking for thousands of volunteers to be greeters at airports and hotels.

They also need volunteers to help convention goers find their "way" to landmarks and neighborhoods like Ohio City and University Circle.

Volunteers are called "Wayfinders." 8,000 volunteers are needed. More than 6,000 have already signed up.

Volunteers will have to go to a training seminar.

"So what we need are volunteers to come down and help people understand the new Cleveland story, and showcase their pride, help them get around, and make them feel welcome,“ said Jennifer Kramer with Destination Cleveland,
